Kurt D. Eckard, D.C.

Dr. Kurt Eckard grew up in Milford, Iowa. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Iowa and earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic. He has postgraduate training/ certification in rehabilitation, sports injury, Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization, Functional Movement Systems (SFMA), Graston Technique and acupuncture. Dr. Kurt established Eckard Chiropractic in 1992 after moving back to the Okoboji area with his wife, Theresa. Their six children are all graduates of Okoboji Community High School. Two of their children are also Doctors of Chiropractic.

Megan E. Dubois, D.C.

Dr. Dubois is a graduate of Okoboji Community Schools. She received her B.A. degree from University of Iowa. She went on to earn her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic. After school, she moved back to the lakes area to start her family and her career. Her husband, Ryan, also attended Okoboji Schools. Their daughter attends Okoboji Elementary. Dr. Megan has been providing the highest quality of chiropractic care at Eckard Chiropractic for 10 years.

Matthew J. Eckard, D.C.

Dr. Matt is also a graduate of Okoboji Community Schools, where he was a multi-sport athlete and experienced firsthand the benefits of chiropractic care. He played baseball at Ave Maria University in Florida, where he studied exercise science. Dr. Matt continued his education and received his Doctor of Chiropractic at Palmer College of Chiropractic. He has retained his passion for sport by coaching junior high baseball for Okoboji Community Schools as well as competing in triathlons, gravel and road bicycle races.

Shaela L. Tiefenthaler, D.C.

Dr. Tiefenthaler was born and raised in Carroll, Iowa. She received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at Iowa State University before earning her Doctor of Chiropractic at Palmer College of Chiropractic. She specializes in family chiropractic, including a passion for prenatal and pediatric chiropractic. She enjoys teaching dance, spending time on the lake, and staying active with her dogs Poppy and West. Dr. Tiefenthaler is excited to make the Iowa Great Lakes her home!

Our doctors graduated from the renown Palmer College of Chiropractic. Chiropractors are healthcare professionals who specialize in diagnosing and treating conditions of the musculoskeletal system, especially the spine. In the United States, chiropractic education typically consists of a four year Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree program, which includes both classroom and clinical training.
